View MOSS 2007 or WSS 3.0 log files

To view MOSS 2007 or WSS 3.0 Log Files:

1) Goto: <root drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\Logs

2) View Last Updated File.

Note: Log file will be updated continuously, so it is better to view in a editor such as textpad (www.textpad.com)

By default log settings are set to high priority logs.

To change log settings to verbose:

1) Goto Central Admin -> Operations -> Diagnostic Logging

2) In Event Throttling, Select a Category to "All" and Trace Log to "verbose".

3) Click OK.

Be sure to set back to High or above after troubleshooting the problem.
